Non-profit Organizations

We are on a mission to see India changed by the love of Christ!

About us

Mission India's programs—developed by Indians for Indians—benefit our network of indigenous ministry partners, draw on grassroots volunteers across India, and are available in 25 Indian languages. Adult Literacy Classes are providing illiterates with vital skills to change their lives for the better, and introducing many to the Gospel for the first time. For each program, we provide materials, we train partners how to use the materials, and we require partners to report back the results of the program when it is completed.

Investing in the next generation is a value held closely at Mission India. Take a look at what our President & CEO, Todd VanEk, shares about his heart for leaving a legacy! “When I first met Mission India’s founder, John DeVries, I was in the process of revisiting my life’s mission statement, trying to figure out how to advance the Kingdom—and it came to life when I partnered with Mission India. I now had a front-row seat to the work of the Holy Spirit in one of the most spiritually depraved nations in the world. “Since then, I’ve become more and more convinced that the way to change India is through the kids. If you want to impact a community for the next 50-100 years, you start with the children, because if you change the kids, the parents follow. “This reminds me of a time I was in India celebrating the conclusion of a Bible Club, and a little girl shared her testimony. It was because she learned to pray in her Children’s Bible Club that her mom was radically healed and her whole family came to salvation. The thing that stuck with me was when our ministry partner leaned over to me and said, ‘Todd, the Holy Spirit is doing more to reach Christ through children like her than anything else we are doing.’ “As I celebrate my 60th birthday this month, I’ve been reflecting on what legacy I want to leave. And I’ve realized that more things are caught than taught. For example, you can teach someone how to pray, but it’s when they witness your passionate prayer life that they catch what intercession can really look like. In India, we see that happen as a child catches the passion of their Bible Club leader, and their parents catch it, too. “So, I want to pose the question: What is the lesson Jesus wants the next generation to catch from your life?”

Ben and Jen have been faithful partners of Mission India since the 1990s, but their hearts for generosity started even before that. Growing up, Ben’s family gave generously of their time. His wife, Jen, found inspiration for generosity through the Church, seeing others experience joy in their giving and wanting to follow their example. Once Ben and Jen had five kids, they knew they wanted to carry the value of generosity into their own family. They felt that, as parents, they had a responsibility from Scripture to pass down this legacy. Ben explains, “We attended a generous giving conference that taught us … to include our kids in the decisions of where and why we give as a family.” Prayer plays a significant role in Ben and Jen’s family giving. Jen shares, “When you seek God in prayer, He convicts and steers you toward the path to where He wants you to give.” Through this process, Mission India became that path for Ben and Jen. As Ben and Jen’s passion grew for the work Mission India was doing, they began to give generously of their resources. If you long to pass down a legacy of giving toward missions, Jen wants to encourage you with this: “JUST DO IT! Ask God what He would have you do with the resources He has already blessed you with, invite your kids into that decision, and watch God transform hearts.”
