The forecast is clear: Increased capacity is needed. While there's no single solution, peaker plants hold significant promise for today’s electricity generators. Peaker plants supported by advanced technology heavy duty gas turbines and increased capacity are vital to ensuring the reliability of the grid, helping to offset the variability of renewables while enabling the ramp-down of older thermal generation technologies. Find out why peakers are uniquely positioned to help advance the energy transition in our latest Utility Dive playbook: https://lnkd.in/embqtbDE #MitsubishiPower #EnergyTransition #Hydrogen #Utilities #PowerPlant

🌍 🌱 The transition to a carbon-neutral world demands innovative solutions, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) will play a crucial role. While it isn’t an all-encompassing solution, CCUS offers significant benefits in our journey toward net zero emissions. 🤔 Did you know? There are 51 operational CCUS facilities across the globe. These facilities are hard at work, capturing CO₂ from industrial processes, fuel transformation, and power generation. With nearly 800 projects in planning or under construction, by 2030 we’re looking at a jaw-dropping 430M tonnes of CO₂ capture capacity! #MitsubishiPower #CCUS #CarbonCapture #EnergyTransition #ClimateChange #CleanEnergy Mitsubishi Heavy Industries

“Buy Proof, Not Promises,” isn’t just a slogan for us. Our first JAC advanced class gas turbine underwent at least 8,000 hours of validation at our Takasago demonstration facility. That’s equivalent to nearly one year of normal operation. This unrivaled validation helped J-POWER USA’s team know they were making the right choice when selecting Mitsubishi Power as a partner for their Jackson Generation power plant. Learn more about how this project came to fruition and the continued collaboration here: https://lnkd.in/eChkUain #MitsubishiPower #Utilities #PowerGeneration #PowerPlant

As demand for clean energy solutions rises, today’s electricity generators need a reliable, flexible solution to help achieve their decarbonization goals. Peaker plants and gas turbines have always been well-positioned to help balance the rising demand for energy. But now they're essential to the energy grids of tomorrow. With renewables playing a larger role in the energy mix, peakers can help bridge the gap between more variable energy sources and peak demand times, helping create a grid that’s more efficient, flexible, and reliable above all else. Download our Utility Dive Playbook to learn how the ramp up of peaker plants is a key solution for navigating the energy transition: https://lnkd.in/embqtbDE #MitsubishiPower #EnergyTransition #GasTurbine #PowerPlant #Utilities

#MitsubishiPower is advancing next-generation energy technologies for decarbonization at two facilities in Japan. By collaborating closely between Takasago and Nagasaki, Mitsubishi Power aims to support the transition to a hydrogen society. 🔵Takasago Hydrogen Park (Takasago City, Hyogo Prefecture) This integrated facility is verifying technologies for hydrogen production, storage, and power generation for the rapid commercialization of #hydrogen #gasturbines. Hydrogen single-firing and co-firing are being tested in actual gas turbines for power generation to improve product reliability. 🔴Nagasaki Carbon Neutral Park (Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture) This facility is a base for technology development related to energy decarbonization, which is producing biomass fuel and developing ammonia firing technologies in addition to hydrogen production. Key technologies developed here are being used for demonstration of hydrogen production and hydrogen power generation at Takasago Hydrogen Park.
