Politics and Crypto We love to talk about one and not the other 🧐 Last night was a big debate in the Presidential Race for the quickly approaching 2024 Election. The Polymarket odds couldn't be tighter after the first [only?] debate last night. From Harris: “I believe in the ambition, the aspirations, the dreams of the American people, and that is why I imagine and have actually a plan to build what I call an opportunity economy.” From Trump: “People can’t go out and buy cereal or bacon or eggs or anything else. The people of our country are absolutely dying with what they’ve done. They’ve destroyed the economy,” Meanwhile, Bitcoin prints a new block every 10 minutes or so. All in crypto are watching to see the direction this emerging market will go. With everyone holding a #crypto wallet and all businesses accepting crypto from these wallets - the traditional tax client is going to change. Fewer than 1% of small and medium size #CPA firms can find enough qualified U.S. candidates for employment, and 56% plan to hike starting salaries by 14% on average, a survey found. Nearly one out of five CPA firms (18%) plan to boost starting salaries by 21% to 40%.   It is becoming clearer all the time: Firms need to learn about crypto | blockchain accounting so they can attract the accounting students that just graduated. The #Universities need to also embrace crypto | blockchain accounting so they can also attract these students to the profession. For a number of reasons, the #crypto | #blockchain #accounting revolution makes majoring in accounting a much more attractive option to students. But there still needs to be a push from the industry to address the overall interest .... and soon. The news is getting around about the SEC Wells Notice to OpenSea and the story is just getting started. Many are shaking their heads. Here is one opening argument from Brian Frye, a law professor at the University of Kentucky specializing in NFTs and securities law. 'The NFT market is identical to the art market, which existed long before the SEC was created and which the SEC has never regulated. If the SEC thinks the art market is a securities market, it should say so and try to regulate it. If not, it should leave OpenSea alone."
