Employee Spotlight! MPS’ Principal Software Engineer, Marcus Schmidt has been doing the ‘invisible work’ on the backend to keep the MPS engine rolling!    Learn more about Marcus and why he’s such an integral part of our team:    Q:  What are your two or three favorite things about your job/working at MPS?   A: Number one is definitely the people. I enjoy coming into the office, because of the people here. Second would probably be the ability to have my voice heard, and make an impact on things.   Q: Please share a few bullets about your work experience prior to MPS.   A: Before MPS, I worked in neurodevelopmental research with a focus on neuroimaging at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Before being recruited to Erasmus, I worked at the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research at the University of Minnesota, researching early-onset schizophrenia.   Q: What are a few personal things you want to share?   A: I went to Gustavus Adolphus College for my undergrad in Studio Art, and then started pre-requisites for architecture at the University of Minnesota. During my time at the University of Minnesota, I volunteered for a research lab, which led to me learning how to code and switching my career path. I’m a big Vikings and F1 fan, as well as all things cars.   MPS’ CTO, Mark Moran said in regard to Marcus:  “Here’s the thing about Marcus – he’s the most helpful, easy to work with, positive employee. Over the years he’s gotten involved in all sorts of what we like to call in Engineering as “invisible work”. Things that are helpful, keep the wheels greased, but are not really visible. He’s probably done things that have touched each employee in some way with some positivity.”
