👉 One of the mission of #MuseIT is to build an inclusive repository - why? Unfortunately, not everyone has an equal access to culture as an audience, but also as cultural professionals. As stated by On the Move in this great publication: "Studies rarely address issues related to providing greater support to disabled arts workers". ✅ Dedicated to give everyone access to culture, MuseIT's aims to safeguard and store cultural assets, heritage and services in an inclusive way, so that future generations, researchers, scientists, artists and cultural organizations, regardless of all disabilities, can access, use and reuse them. First, by transforming cultural heritage in inclusive forms (multisensory and multilayered) 👁👃🏻👂👆, then by storing it considering their complexity and specificity. #inclusion #accessibility

👉 How can we imagine the unknown when we're so tied to the familiar? ShareMusic & Performing Arts, a project partner, has recently showcased #MuseIT at various events, engaging diverse audiences—from policymakers to senior citizens and science festival attendees. The common thread? Sparking imagination and creativity to envision the unknown. MuseIT believes in a participatory, co-creative approach to innovation. By involving the primary beneficiaries - cultural institutions and all people, especially those with disabilities, from the start, so we can develop accessible solutions for everyone. 🗣 As language evolves, influenced by societal changes, it poses risks to digital artefacts encapsulating cultural expressions of their times. Words and phrases that were once neutral or positive can become offensive, and vice versa. 💡 MuseIT combats this by developing advanced methods to track and interpret semantic changes over time, ensuring cultural expressions remain authentic and relevant despite societal and technological shifts. This is one of the ways #MuseITproject makes cultural heritage more inclusive and representative of our dynamic societies. 📣 The MuseIT consortium is taking place in Scotland since Wednesday! This was also the opportunity to organise a new participatory workshop and a working session on haptics, which took place at St Cecilia's Hall in Edinburgh. 🎶 👉 Participatory workshops are at the heart of MuseIT's co-design approach and enable partners to improve and develop their technological systems and tools! Two days were then devoted to the consortium meeting. This was an opportunity to recapitulate on the progress made so far and to define the next stages of the project. ✍ The partners are currently working on the two MuseIT use cases, and key discussions are taking place on the integration of the various technologies. 💡 Stay tuned in the coming weeks to find out more about our progress! A huge thank you to our partners at X-System for hosting and organising the event. #MuseITProject #Inclusion #Accessibility #Research #Technologies #EuropeanProject

For english see below ⬇ 💡 Last Friday, ShareMusic participated in the panel discussion "Listen to Your Brain" at the Science Festival in Gothenburg, focusing on inclusion and innovation for people with disabilities. Together with Nasrine Olson, Peter Larson, Linda Eriksson, and Sofia Lindström Sol, our chief executive and artistic director, Sophia Alexandersson, discussed the challenges and opportunities. It was a fruitful and interesting conversation where both Peter and Linda, with their different perspectives and experiences, provided valuable insights into how technology can assist them in the future. Peter Larsson, a musician, shared that he gained many new insights during the panel discussion. For instance, he learned about the importance of haptics for someone who is deafblind. - Linda mentioned during the conversation that she can feel vibrations when water boils. This highlights the significance of haptics for someone who cannot see or hear. For Peter, the ability to use haptics has opened new doors in his music creation, and he looks forward to continuing to use and develop the technology. Creating an inclusive society requires research, innovative design, and a reworking of technology and policy. ShareMusic constantly strives to challenge conventional norms to make society accessible to all. The MuseIT Project (Horizon Europe), led by the University of Borås, is paving the way for advancements in research, and we are very proud to be a part of the project.
