The MWH & Kg Walters Construction JV reached a significant milestone by seeding Bioreactors 3 and 4 (rectangular tank) at the South Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (STMWRF) in Reno, NV. Next, the JV will clean the OX Ditches (cylindrical tank) and convert it into Bioreactors 1 and 2. The Bioreactors utilize the Bardenpho process which is designed to remove biological phosphorus and nitrogen from the influent wastewater. Major equipment installed include Vertical Mixers from INVENT Environmental Technologies, Inc. that keep the solids suspended inside Anoxic and Anaerobic Zones, Fine Bubble Diffusers from OTT Group that ensure efficient oxygen transfer inside Aerobic Zones, and High-Speed Turbo Air Blowers from APG-Neuros that supply air to the Bioreactors. Ultimately, the Bioreactors are the critical component of the STMWRF 2020 Expansion Project, aimed at boosting treatment capacity in a cost-effective manner and enhancing the water quality for Washoe County.

Last month, MWH participated in a groundbreaking ceremony hosted by the Jurupa Community Services District (JCSD) at American Heroes Park in Eastvale, CA. The event celebrated the commencement of the JCSD Regional Recycled Water Project, a landmark initiative 10 years in the making. The MWH CMS West team is providing expert construction management services for this project, which will supply 350 million gallons of recycled water annually, significantly bolstering the local drinking water supply for over 3,000 homes each year. Attendees included MWH’s Regional Manager, Randy Lovan, and team members Brian Korcok, David Dismang, and Dennis Brown, along with representatives from more than 20 public agencies and dignitaries. #recycledwater #waterreclamation #cleanwater #JCSD #Jurupa

Our heritage runs deep. Here, James M. Montgomery reflects with the thoughtful and pioneering spirit that led to the creation of James M. Montgomery Consulting Engineers (JMM). His dedication to improving water and wastewater systems nationwide continues to guide our work at MWH. JMM was acquired by Watson Hawksley, leading to the formation of Montgomery Watson (MW). Later, with the acquisition of Harza Engineering, we evolved into the name we carry today, Montgomery Watson Harza (MWH). We proudly build upon this rich heritage, continuing the legacy of commitment and innovation sparked by the visionary leadership of James M. Montgomery and others who helped build MWH as it is today. #TBT #ThrowbackThursday #MWHhistory

Much of the work we're doing at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant is taking place underground. We're working on upgrading biological active filtration, an advanced water treatment process that will remove a broad range of contaminants, including organic matter, ammonia, and pathogens.
