Thank you to The Hill for this incredibly powerful article highlighting the positive effects that virtual reality is having on veterans. This is a must read for anyone concerned about the well-being of veterans and those with PTSD. Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Tonya Oxendine, featured in the article, spoke about her experience with PTSD and VR therapy. ❤️ - “I was emotional. I was scared. I mean, just all just all kinds of emotions running through,” she added, but “it was a controlled environment. I was not alone. … I’m glad I did it because I feel better. Now, I’m able to handle my mental health in a healthy way.” It's stories like these that make us at Mynd Immersive so excited about our partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Association of State Veterans Homes, and Bowlers to Veterans Link. The goal of the partnership is to design and create therapeutic experiences specifically for veterans. VA said in a statement, “This ongoing relationship allows VA to gain more knowledge on how to effectively implement VR as a part of therapy. It’s crucial to involve veterans and VA staff as they are the end-users of the technology. By understanding and addressing the issues from their perspectives, it can lead to a transformative impact.' We also want to give a shoutout to the Wounded Warrior Project, featured in the article, for all their efforts in addressing PTSD in veterans. Your work has been truly remarkable. 🙏 🔎 Read the article below: ⬇ https://lnkd.in/giYN2Tpr - #headsinheadsets #VAimmersive #pathtopeace #virtualvietnam #digitaltherapeutics #seniorliving #seniorcare Anne Lord Bailey, PharmD, BCPS Caitlin Rawlins, MSN, RN Susan Kirsh MD MPH Skip Rizzo Walter Greenleaf, PhD Nancy Schenk, Jonathan Spier Evan Davis, CTRS Katherine Kemp Haipeng (Mark) Zhang DO, MMSc, FAMIA Amy Hedrick Ron Osgood Jarrod Reisweber Jessica Benson Chris B. We hope to see you at the 2024 VA Immersive Summit next week! We will showcase sneak peeks of our recent collaborations with many amazing veterans’ organizations. Some of the content on display includes: 1. Inspiring and heartfelt footage from the most recent Triad Honor Flight, a ceremony in which a group of aging veterans is flown to Washington, D.C., to visit our Nation's Memorials. This carefully captured immersive experience allows veterans unable to attend to feel the power of being on the Honor Flight! 2. "Virtual Vietnam: A Path to Peace." This groundbreaking application is being developed in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs over a period of three years. It is designed to offer peace and closure to Vietnam Veterans by providing them with options: Visiting Vietnam as it is today, viewing archival film and photos, accessing mindfulness venues, and engaging in general travel within the country. We are thrilled to share the very early stages of this project with you! 3. Letters From Home, the nationally acclaimed USO-style show that honors our veterans, active military heroes, and their families through music. Thanks to Jessica Benson, Paul DeHondt, Chris B., Tracy Hall, Erinn Dearth, Alison Huber, Anne Lord Bailey, PharmD, BCPS, Evan Davis, CTRS, and Caitlin Rawlins, MSN, RN for bringing these projects to life! Come check us out at the #VAimmersive Summit! - #headsinheadsets #digitaltherapeutics #vrforveterans #vrforseniors #virtualvietnam #pathtopeace
