Last week, our Development Coordinator, Jane Vitelli, flew to Denver, Colorado to attend NAMICon! Jane met people from all over the United States, including those from Colorado, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas, and some familiar faces from NAMI Bucks County PA and NAMI Northeast Region PA as well. Some of her favorite sessions she got to attend included "How To Build a Grants Program," "Barriers Before and After Incarceration: The Impact on My Mental Health and Society Reintegration," and "Taming The Beast: My Journey With Bipolar Disorder." There were many amazing sponsors she got to learn about as well, including Maybelline New York with their "Brave Together" campaign, and Happy Coffee, who proudly spreads the NAMI message on all of their products. "This was truly one of the coolest experiences I've ever had! I really encourage anyone and everyone, whether you are part of a NAMI organization or not, to attend this conference." Thank you to NAMI National for making this event so amazing!

Another inspiring weekend spent at the annual NAMIWalks! The NeuroStar team had a wonderful time connecting with other mental health advocates and showing our support for those on their journey to recovery. Gearing up for my second year planning our affiliate's largest event of the year, NAMIWalks, for NAMI Montgomery County PA! This event helps to break the stigma around mental illness and raises funds for our free, top-rated mental health programming. Every dollar counts and is extremely appreciated! Here is what last year's donations helped with in 2023 and 2024: Launching four brand new support groups for: -OCD (2023) -Anxiety and/or Depression for Black and Brown Women (2023) -LGBTQIA+ Community (2024) -Bipolar Disorder (2024) -Keeping our warmline open Monday through Friday and addressing the needs of 653 callers in 2023 -Bringing mental health education into more high schools in Montco, and expanding into middle schools and faith based organizations in 2023 -Running 170 support groups with 1,422 attendees in 2023 Please consider donating and/or registering for this fantastic event happening on May 4th at Temple Ambler Campus! https://lnkd.in/e83hjw6D
