Listening to or making music affects the brain in ways that may help promote health and manage disease symptoms. NCCIH is supporting studies on music and health as part of the Sound Health initiative, a collaboration between The National Institutes of Health, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts. #Music #MusicTherapy #HealthResearch #IntegrativeHealth https://go.nih.gov/XTXD3ct

NIH is taking steps to re-envision the postdoctoral training experience, but the feedback of the biomedical research community is a crucial part of this process. Among the actions under consideration are: ➡️Limiting the amount of time a postdoctoral scholar can be supported by NIH funds to five years to speed transition into research careers. ➡️ Shorten the eligibility window and refocus review criteria for a key mentored career development award (K99/R00) to facilitate more rapid transition of postdoctoral scholars. ➡️Enhancing training and professional development for postdoctoral scholars and their mentors.
