We’re thrilled to announce the ground breaking of our Energy Materials and Processing at Scale (EMAPS) facility. Spanning over 127,000 sqft, EMAPS is designed with adaptable workspaces that support rapid experiment configuration and interdisciplinary collaboration. The facility will integrate state-of-the-art #EnergyEfficiency technologies, including reclaimed gray water systems, heat reclamation, and all-electric infrastructure, helping us achieve #LEED Gold certification. EMAPS will enable researchers to work at unprecedented scales, tackling some of the most complex challenges in energy materials science and #CleanEnergy solutions. We look forward to the breakthroughs that this new facility will help catalyze! See more, https://bit.ly/3MJulki

Check out the list of 35 college and university teams that qualified to participate in the 2025 U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) #CollegiateWind Competition! 🎉 🌬️ During the first half of the 2024–2025 school year, these teams will begin developing a preliminary design and report for their model wind turbine and a preliminary site design for their hypothetical floating offshore wind farm, conduct outreach, network with the industry, and compete for a spot in the final event, where they will present their work to expert judges and test their models in a wind tunnel. Participating in the competition will help prepare these students to join the growing #WindEnergy #workforce and the fight against #ClimateChange. https://bit.ly/3zo3Bm7

🏗️ How do we transition our current energy system to one where building help move our nation toward a clean energy future? 🌎 And how do we do that in a way that benefits everyone—without breaking the bank? These were the two big questions posed at NREL's 2024 Partner Forum in August. Nearly 150 innovators, energy planners, analysts, entrepreneurs, and researchers joined together at NREL to focus on the highly complex, seemingly intractable problem: decarbonizing the built environment.
