Improving care relating to pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers and surgical wounds.

About us

The National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP) was commissioned by NHS England to improve care relating to pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers and surgical wounds. We aim to achieve a consistently high standard of wound care across England by reducing unnecessary variation and improving safety to improve healing rates and reduce patient suffering, spend on inappropriate and ineffective treatments and the amount of clinical time spent on wound care. Our vision is to create lasting change through supporting those responsible for the delivery of care to deliver excellence in assessing and treating people with wounds to optimise healing and minimise the burden of wounds for patients, carers and health and care providers.
