Nebraska Behavior Supports has had the privilege of serving families throughout the state, providing essential ABA services for children with autism since 2020.  We've listened to the needs of our communities and recognized the importance of bringing these services to more rural areas in the Midwestern States. That's why we're excited to introduce Heartland ABA, a rebrand that will allow us to extend our compassionate care and support to families across many states in the region. As we gradually transition to our new brand, we remain dedicated to our mission of making a positive impact on the lives of children in Nebraska and across the Midwest. Together, we will continue to further our shared mission.

Meet Audrey Koenigsknecht, BCBA: "I enjoy working at NBS because they allow me to service individuals via telehealth, which allows families to get their children the support and ABA services that they may not have otherwise been able to access. I also enjoy working with NBS because everyone is so friendly and helpful. There can be barriers when working remote, but NBS makes it very easy to communicate with everyone to keep everything running smoothly. It has been a very healthy and happy work environment to be a part of! I stumbled upon this field my senior year of college when I had no idea what I was going to do with my psychology and child development degree. One of my professors told me about ABA therapy so I volunteered at my college's autism clinic and immediately fell in love with the field and knew this was what I was meant to do. My favorite part of the job is seeing the children, families and therapists progress before our eyes. It is so fun, so rewarding and so special to be a part of changing our children and families lives forever! A fun fact about me is that I was a BCaBA before I became a BCBA."

Meet Samantha Setty, BCBA: “I truly enjoy working with NBS due to my coworkers. I have the pleasure of working alongside a wonderful group of RBTs and case managers and their collaborative nature helps ensure that our clients receive the most supportive and holistic ABA support possible. I became a BCBA because I fell in love with the science of behavior analysis and how it can be used in an ethical and compassionate way to help improve lives. Using ABA procedures allows for measurable and immediate improvements in all areas of my life and the lives of the people I work with. ABA should be driven by the person using it, so my favorite part of the job is collaborating with my clients to work on their goals and their dreams. Though it is always bittersweet, I love when the client "fires" me because they have met their goals and have learned how to use ABA in their daily lives so they no longer need me. Growing up my family named all of our dogs with letter M names. To this day, the tradition continues and Memphis is our main doggo! He also has 4 cat siblings and a rogue L named doggo sister, because we tend to fail at fostering animals and end up adopting them instead! “

Meet Kimberly Piper, BCBA: “I enjoy working at NBS because of the flexibility and the ability to work remote. I also like that a large company puts out meaningful CEU events that allow BCBAs to come together and connect. My oldest son is the reason for my passion and pursuing a career in the field of ABA. Having a child that is on the spectrum put me in a place of advocacy and learning. I didn't have ABA for him or a diagnosis until he was much older, never giving me an opportunity to help him like I would have liked. He finds great pleasure in knowing that because of him his mother is helping other kids with ASD. Aside from the expected joy I find in helping clients and families reach their potentials, my favorite part of this job is being able to teach and mentor new RBTs, giving them the tools of my experience to build their confidence and support them. My fun fact is that I live on top of a mountain in Montana. We get regular guests such as mama bears and her cubs for lunch or the regular sightings of elk, moose and deer.“

Meet Haylee Wawrzynkiewicz, our amazing case manager! "I love working for NBS and being a part of the team that can provide necessary services to families across the state! I am a small piece of the puzzle, but I am so grateful for all of the technicians, BCBAs, NBS colleagues, and families that I have been able to work with during my time. I have always wanted to help people and collaborate with amazing humans to make a difference! My favorite part of the job is sending out a "Referral", which means that the culmination of everyone's hard work has finally paid off and we are able to start services. Having that start date and being able to see the excitement in the families is priceless! A fun fact about me is that, I have a big fur baby who is a velcro dog to the extreme and I wouldn't have it any other way! I also LOVE coffee in any form!"
