  • Our 2024 Funeral Home Symposiums in northern and southern Nevada were a massive success! This is a unique opportunity for us to provide free educational events which are aimed at enhancing collaboration and communication to better serve our shared missions. Our hope is that everyone who attended was able to take away valuable information that they can implement with their teams. . . . . #DonateLife #NevadaStrong #BeAHero #GiveBack

  • We are thrilled to announce our sixth member of Team Nevada… Kim! She is a heroic donor grandmother and Advocate for Life with Nevada Donor Network. This will be Kim’s first time attending the games as a supporter of Team Nevada alongside friends of Team SoCal! Her grandson, Malaikye’s life ended tragically when he was only 16 months old. Kim’s daughter bravely said ‘YES’ to organ donation, and Kye would go on to save four lives through the ultimate gift. She believes that her little hero's donation helped give purpose after his passing and she became passionate about sharing his legacy. The Transplant Life Foundation's Transplant Games of America provides courageous donor families with the opportunity to connect with one another and find emotional solidarity in their stories. They can connect with transplant recipients to heal and celebrate the second chance that donation gives together. Kim aims to encourage other donor families to attend future games with Team Nevada to meet and connect with others in the Donate Life community and to compete in donor family trivia! Inspired to bring hope to the nearly 700 Nevadans waiting for their second chance? • Almost 65,000 Men are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. As Men’s Health Month ends, we would like to share a story about the second chance Raquel Colucci gave to her double lung recipient, Jose Graciano. Without her selfless gift, Jose would not be here after the damage COVID-19 did to his lungs. View their entire story on our blog: https://hubs.li/Q02DP1ZH0 . . . . #DonateLife #UltimateGift #BeAHeroLikeRaquel #LungTransplant

  • Our fifth member of Team Nevada we are excited to introduce is… Tyre! He is Nevada Donor Network’s Chief Administrative and Legal Officer. Tyre will be competing at his first Transplant Life Foundation’s Transplant Games of America. In his mid-20’s, a routine physical revealed he was living with chronic kidney disease. Many years later, when Tyre’s health began to fail, he decided to pursue a law degree instead of purely focusing on his medical condition. In 2012, Tyre received a kidney transplant and graduated at the top of his law school class. If this was not enough, he also passed three bar exams in Arizona, California and Nevada along with joining a large regional law firm. Tyre is ready to bring his fighter mentality to the games and bring home medals for Team Nevada! . . . . #DonateLife #TransplantGamesOfAmerica #TeamNevada #GoTeamGo #FinalCountdown #TGA2024

  • In honor of Pride Month, we would like to introduce you to Eric Abram! He is the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Lambda Business Association which is the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce for Southern Nevada. Did you know that an individual’s gender, gender expression or identity and sexual orientation does not prevent them from becoming an organ donor? The gift is saying yes. • So incredible to see our teams using innovative technology and methods to train our incredible staff!

Nevada Donor Network is constantly looking for the most innovative ways to train our team. SimX is a virtual reality (VR) tool that has helped us accelerate training of our Procurement Transplant Coordinators (PTCs) by simulating a hospital setting and creating scenarios that challenge them in a controlled environment. Our focus is building critical thinking skills when managing the care of our heroic donors in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). By using VR, we train our team members to efficiently respond to medical emergencies which ultimately helps us save as many lives as possible through organ donation and transplantation. Would you like to join a team who continues to excel in saving and healing lives? • Nevada Donor Network is honored to sponsor Team Nevada’s competitors at the 2024 Transplant Life Foundation’s Transplant Games of America! Meet JoAnne, she is our only competitor from northern Nevada. We are elated for her to represent her living donation at the and bring awareness to the ultimate gift she gave. About 15 years ago, she developed a friendship with a coworker. She discovered her coworker, Kiran, had severe polycystic kidney disease which caused her kidneys to fail. Kiran hoped to find a living donor or would have to go on dialysis two weeks later. JoAnne learned more about the living donor process and for a reason that took her many years to realize, told Kiran she was getting tested. The results finally came in on Kiran’s birthday, a perfect match! They have continued their friendship today, and JoAnne is happy to be a part of Kiran’s family. After years of being asked why she did this selfless act, it dawned on her… JoAnne was the recipient of many heartfelt gifts from loved ones after her first husband passed away from a fatal heart attack two days after their son was born. She was not only struggling to imagine raising a new baby by herself, but also their seven-year-old daughter. These wonderful people supported her with meals, paying bills, taking her daughter to the circus and more. Due to their actions, JoAnne knew she would be ok. She finally realized that providing Kiran with the gift of life was her way to pay it forward. JoAnne never regretted her decision and never will. Are you inspired by her story?
