Last Friday, New Ground wrapped up our 2024 Enhanced Summer Education Program. With trips to the zoo, a local farm, and other places, our students stayed ahead of their academics to head back to school in September. This summer was certainly one to remember, including once again a fabulous Field Day sponsored by Farrell Fritz with activities led by some of their team members! On November 14th New Ground is honoring three incredible individuals at our annual Groundbreakers Gala!  The Groundbreakers Award recognizes Devin Kulka (Chief Executive Officer of The Kulka Group), the Máiréad M. Barrett Founder’s Award will go to Elise Henry (Clinical Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in Occupational Therapy, CUNY York College), and New Ground’s own Evol Sweeney (Associate Program Director) will receive the Thomas Whalen Memorial Award.  Learn more about our honorees and find out how you can attend this year’s gala and help our struggling Veterans and families secure a brighter future! New Ground’s Enhanced Summer Education Program is in full swing! Our students have been beating the heat with fun Friday Field Trips, Reading, Theater, Arts & Crafts, and Robotics (with a new Lego robotics set from the fundraising efforts of student-volunteers Justin and Amalia – see photo 6). With a month to go before the new school year, we can’t wait to see what other adventures our students get up to!
