Administrator Liz Ryan’s latest op-ed highlights OJJDP’s investment in a continuum of care framework that seeks to serve the whole child, with targeted services available at every stage of a youth’s possible involvement with the juvenile justice system. NICJR is excited to serve as one of three TTA providers for the Building Local Continuums of Care to Support Youth Success Initiative. As we ramp up our training and technical assistance to 23 jurisdictions across the country, we are thankful for OJJDP’s leadership and echo their commitment to treating kids as kids. This week, community violence intervention (CVI) leaders unveiled a CVI Action Plan that focuses on saving lives, reducing violence in Black and Brown communities, and supporting CVI professionals. By leveraging the insights of more than 300 CVI practitioners, researchers, and leaders, the Plan outlines recommendations for impact-driven investments to strengthen the field and establish CVI as a permanent fixture of public safety ecosystems nationwide.
