Congratulations to Anu Jaswal, who has been selected to serve on the National Documentation and Verification Liaison Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).   Anu was selected by the incoming AILA president to serve on a team of immigration attorneys across the country to liaise with various DOJ and DHS representatives on issues involving employment verification (E-Verify), I-9 documentation compliance and requirements, ICE enforcements efforts, OCAHO, and more. The committee meets regularly with ICE worksite enforcement, USCIS Verification Division, and the DOJ Office of Special Counsel.

NJL welcomes Ella Chen as a Summer Associate! Ella joins us as a 2L from the University of Minnesota Law School. Ella brings experience in the sectors of health care, immigration, and family law to NJL. We’re excited to have her on board in partnership with Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP). TCDIP is a program that strengthens the legal pipeline by providing valuable experiences to law students.

NJL's Christy Mennen and John Wackman are at Micromobility Europe this week. Partnering with Brandon Schuh of Christensen Group Insurance, Greg Appelhof of TradeHubb and Sieghart Michielsen of NIU Technologies, they will participate in a panel discussion focused on leveraging "big box" retail to market and distribute micromobility products in the U.S. #Micromobility Industries

Last week, NJL President Amanda Cialkowski spoke at the National Ski Areas Association Convention in Frisco, TX to address how ski areas can navigate an increasingly complex litigation landscape. The presentation discussed recent trends, notable cases, and strategies for staying proactive on legal matters.
