Did you know that the Alliance for Community Engagement – Climate and Health (ACE-CH) has teams in California, Colorado, and Alaska? Each team promotes community-driven, sustainable strategies to address the impact of climate on populations disproportionately affected by social determinants of health and health disparities. This summer, the Alaska ACE-CH team, led by the University of Alaska Fairbanks, gathered their community partners to: 🤝Build and strengthen connections among academics, public health researchers, and local community members, most of whom are from indigenous communities. 🏔 Learn about climate and health impacts in Alaska Native communities 🔎 Explore efforts to improve Alaska’s response to climate change Learn more about each of the ACE-CH teams: https://bit.ly/46e0nOo

Nearly half of all Black Americans attend church at least once a week. More than half of Black Americans who participate in church activities attend congregations that they identify as Black churches. With their role as centers of communities, Black churches are key partners in research that advances the NIMHD mission to improve minority health and reduce health disparities. Dr. Rebecca Selove is a member of the Engaging Partners in Caring Communities or EPICC project. This initiative seeks to build the capacity of Black churches and congregations to implement health promotion programs. In this latest blog post from #NIMHDInsights, Dr. Selove shares her experience collaborating with African American faith leaders and faith communities to improve health outcomes and save lives.
