About us

North Mississippi Health Services serves 24 counties in north Mississippi and northwest Alabama from headquarters in Tupelo, Miss. NMHS includes acute diagnostic and therapeutic services offered through North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo; a community hospital system with locations in Eupora, Iuka, Pontotoc and West Point, Miss., and Hamilton Ala.; North Mississippi Medical Clinics, a regional network of more than 45 primary and specialty clinics; and nursing homes, telehealth services and a comprehensive portfolio of managed care plans. NMHS connects our patients and their families with convenient access to health care that is cost effective and of the highest quality. NMHS is a 2012 recipient of the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and NMMC, its flagship hospital, is a 2006 Baldrige Award recipient.

    Returning home for a holiday visit is a great way to appreciate the good things about where you are from… especially as a Mississippian. Over the next few days, I will highlight some of my favorite places in Mississippi and why I believe they are outstanding. I will start with the charming city of Tupelo, Mississippi. Although Tupelo, Mississippi is not my hometown, it’s my wife’s. The North Mississippi Medical Center (NMMC) is headquartered in Tupelo and is where my wife began her professional career. NMMC holds the distinction of being the largest, private, not-for-profit hospital in Mississippi and the largest non-metropolitan hospital in America. Not only that, but the hospital is a two-time winner of the Malcolm Baldridge Award for organizational quality and innovation - a high honor indeed! I remember studying this very award in a Total Quality Management class back during my undergrad years at Alcorn State University Excellent healthcare does exist in Mississippi and NMMC is a prime example of it!
