🧠🏆 In 2016, 82 algorithms entered what can be described as the world cup of quantum security hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Over the last eight years, these algorithms were pitted against the world's best cryptanalysis. One by one, they fell. Until recently, only four remained: CRYSTALS-Kyber, CRYSTALS-Dilithium, SPHINCS+, and Falcon. NIST standardized the first three, while the fourth, Falcon is on track to be standardized soon. 🌜🤳 🌎 Sometimes, coming back to an old project yields incredible results… #OnThisDay in 1966, the Lunar Orbiter 1 took the very first photograph of the Earth from the Moon! While Orbiter 1's job was identifying suitable landing sites on the lunar surface for future manned missions, it also snapped a historic, grainy, poor-resolution image using early computer imaging onboard. Over forty years later, an Image Recovery Project accessed the original analog data from the tapes and used modern digital processing to restore the image...
