🎉 Ain't it nifty, C'sar is turning 50! 🎉 Join us on July 25th as we celebrate the BIG FIVE-OH for C'sar, North America's oldest African bull elephant! 🐘🎁 He'll enjoy a delicious ice treat cake, fun paper mâché enrichment, and all his favorite snacks. 🎂🍉🥕 Sign his giant birthday card and share the joy with us as we celebrate this incredible milestone – 50 years of C'sar at the North Carolina Zoo, the same year as the Zoo's own 50th anniversary!

Exciting news from the Zoo! 🦜🌟 Our Von der Decken hornbills, Jake and Zuri, have been busy with nesting for months. And now, we're thrilled to share that Jake and Zuri are joined by SIX adorable Von der Decken hornbill chicks in the Desert Dome!  Breeding these hornbills is no easy feat, but Zuri and Jake are acing it as amazing parents. All six chicks, sporting black and white feathers, take after mom Zuri for now. Stay tuned for updates on their progress and the fascinating nesting journey ahead!

Did you know there are over 3,500 snake species worldwide, and less than 25% are venomous?  They play a crucial role in our ecosystem and deserve our respect. A bundle of joy has arrived at the Zoo! 🍼🐒 Meet Winnie, our adorable new baby baboon! 💕 She's already stealing hearts with her dark fur and playful antics as she clings to her mom, Candy. Come say hello to Winnie and her proud parents, Babu and Candy, in their habitat. You won't want to miss this precious addition to our Zoo family!
