  • Congratulations to Dr. Steven Jarzembowski, who was recognized as our quarter 2 Northern Stars physician of the quarter at Northern Nevada Medical Center. Read what his nominator had to say about him: "Dr. Jarzembowski goes above and beyond for not only his patients but the staff in the ICU as well. When Dr. Jarzembowski is the attending intensivist for NNMC for two weeks, he always comes back and rounds on his patients and the nursing staff in the ICU after clinic. I have witnessed him countless times, sit down and speak with patient's families, and have those difficult conversations in a very kind manner. He always leaves staff and patients feeling supported." Thank you, Dr. Jarzembowski, for your support of our patients and staff.

  • This quarter, we recognized an honorary Northern Star! Logan Catmull is an ESI Security staff member who has become a treasured part of Northern Nevada Medical Center, and he was recently recognized for his contributions to our facility! "Logan helped us during a particularly unusual and difficult situation. His attention to detail, dedication to safety, and compassionate demeanor with patients saved the day. He was able to de-escalate and redirect a patient to safety. He is also a bright light to the staff who are with him daily. We appreciate Logan so much!" Congratulations, Logan, and thank you for all you do!

  • If your child has a known allergy, it is important to teach them what they should do if they experience an allergic reaction while at school. It is also important to take steps as a parent to prepare both your child and their school if that should happen. Visit http://spklr.io/6043sSKJ to hear from Stacy Chavis, MSN, RN, CHFM, ER Nurse Manager, as she talks about how parents can help to prepare their children to manage their allergies in the school setting.
