ACEC Infrastructure Event Update! The California Inland Port Project is a transformative initiative that aims to create an intermodal rail spine connecting seaports to key markets via the Central Valley. The project involves a collaborative consortium of public and private partners, including the Port of Los Angeles, Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, Kern County, Kings County, Fresno County, Madera County, Stanislaus County, San Joaquin County, Sacramento County and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments. Thank you, Robert Phipps and the Fresno Council of Governments, for your management of this nationally significant development project. The Cross Valley Corridor is a planned transit corridor that will provide east-west express service between the City of Visalia, the City of Hanford, the City of Porterville, and surrounding cities to each other and the planned Kings–Tulare Regional Station for the California High-Speed Rail. Key benefits include improved regional connectivity, transit-oriented development, job creation and workforce mobility. Thank you, Derek Winning and the Tulare County Association Of Governments - Tcag for advocating on behalf of this diverse region of communities to enhance accessibility for its residents, workers, and businesses. The State Route 99 Corridor Enhancement Master Plan, which spans from The City of Bakersfield to City of Lodi, proposes various enhancements including capacity expansion, aesthetic improvements, intermodal connectivity, safety measures, and economic development. Its aim is to relieve congestion, improve goods movement, and enhance economic development in the San Joaquin Valley by strengthening community identity along the corridor. Thank you, Nabeelah Abi-Rached and Caltrans District 6, for working together with local communities and agencies to develop a plan that will foster a valley-wide identity. Measure C - Fresno County has delivered more than $1 billion in improvements during its first 20 years! It provides a dedicated funding source for essential infrastructure projects that includes repairing existing roads, enhancing transportation networks, creating safe pedestrian pathways and trails, and investing in buses, light rail and other transit options. Measure C relies on public support through voter approval. Maintaining trust and demonstrating results are essential. Thank you, Terry Ogle, PE PMP and the Fresno Transportation Authority, for fighting the good fight to renew Measure C. Its economic impact extends beyond infrastructure—it has created jobs, stimulated local spending, and played a vital role in Fresno County’s economic well-being. Thank you to the ACEC San Joaquin Valley Chapter for taking us on a tour of some of the most significant transportation initiatives in our region, in the state and in the nation. Well done!

  • NV5 Civil PM / Construction Management is excited to announce that we have been selected to provide Construction Management, Inspection, and Contract Administration Services for Stanislaus County's Hills Ferry Road Bridge Over San Joaquin River project. The $24.8 million federally funded bridge replacement project will replace the existing seismically vulnerable and scour critical bridge with a new structure that will be a cast-in-place, prestressed box girder, spanning 760 feet to accommodate riverbank erosion. The structure will be supported by single column piers and 120-inch diameter CIDH piles varying in depth from 175 to 177 feet. Due to the environmentally sensitive area of the San Joaquin River, the project is subject to stringent regulatory requirements, including permits from regional, state, and federal authorities. With this latest project, NV5 continues our decades-long relationship with Stanislaus County providing turn-key CM services for their major transportation improvement projects! • PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: NV5 Civil PM / Construction Management recently completed turnkey construction management and inspection services for the City of Reedley's Manning Avenue Phase 3 Pavement Rehabilitation project. This $3.1 million project involved rehabilitating a half-mile stretch of Manning Avenue using various pavement reconstruction methods, including full-depth section removal, isolated 6-inch dig-outs, and variable depth grinding followed by pavement fabric placement and an HMA overlay. Before the pavement work, approximately 2,700 linear feet of outdated clay sanitary sewer line was replaced with 18-inch PVC sewer pipe. The pavement rehabilitation was federally funded through the Regional Surface Transportation Block Grant Program. Congratulations to the City of Reedley, Emmett's Excavation, Inc., and RMA Group, Inc. on another successful project!
