Today at City Hall, NYC Aging General Counsel Penney Vachiraprapun stood with @nycmayor, colleagues in government and advocates like @aarpny to announce additional funding for city homeowners to create accessible dwelling units, as part of the City of Yes housing proposal. These units can help older adults continue living in their communities with families and friends, creating the age-inclusive city we all want to live in. #NYCAging #CityofYes

Yesterday, we hosted our latest older adult town hall with Mayor Eric Adams. 🏛️ This time, we visited New Beginnings Older Adult Center at the Riverdale YMYWHA in the Bronx. Members of the center asked questions about accessing benefits, healthcare, and safety. We look forward to continuing these town halls across the city, allowing older adults to hear directly from the administration about the actions being taken to help them age in place. #NYCAging

Building affordable housing is one of the primary age-inclusive policies we can pursue, and we are doing just that. 🏢 Today, our Executive Deputy Commissioner Ryan Murray joined Mayor Eric Adams and our colleagues in government to announce that in the last two fiscal years, NYC has produced over 25,000 homes and connected over 2,100 residents to permanent supportive housing units. Today, we also gave an older adult the keys to his new apartment! These accomplishments will impact generations to come, and we look forward to celebrating more milestones. #NYCAging #Housing
