TYC LGBTQ Youth Club Break-In Update. The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center has multiple service locations. This break-in did not take place at our main service center on Lakeshore. The thieves broke into our Town Youth Club (TYC) site on Santa Clara here in Oakland's new Lakeshore Cultural District. The break-in happened on Wednesday, March 6, during the early morning hours, before our youth club team members arrived. All of our sites have cameras and alarm systems. We do not believe that the break-in was hate crime related. TYC is just another victim of the rampant burglaries plaguing all areas of our city. The major damage was to our front door. We are replacing the door now with a stronger door.
