Great to support DOE Office of Environmental Management and Candice Robertson at last week’s House Cleanup Caucus event on how AI can be used to advance cleanup and strengthen worker safety!

DOE is using its testbeds to explore a diversity of research questions, including how the future of AI hardware may evolve to be more efficient and how the risks associated with the use of AI can be effectively managed and secured. DOE has also been using these testbeds to conduct red-teaming and model evaluations for open source and proprietary models.

The speed and scale at which Artificial Intelligence (AI) is developing requires investment in a strategic capability now. This week, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) unveiled a new initiative to continue securing U.S. leadership in #ArtificialIntelligence. DOE’s Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence for Science, Security, and Technology (FASST) initiative leverages DOE’s research and technical infrastructure to deliver key assets for the national interest, including scientific discovery through our 17 national laboratories, advancing national security, and addressing energy challenges. FASST will build the world's most powerful integrated scientific #AI systems through four key interconnected pillars: AI-ready data, frontier-scale computing platforms, safe, secure and trustworthy models, and AI applications for science, energy and national security.
