Exciting developments at the PACE meeting! ⚡️ The Office of Electricity, alongside Clean Energy at ORNL and other partners, is paving the way for innovative solutions in electric grid reliability and renewable energy integration. Through the new technical collaboration program at ORNL's GRID-C, small businesses now have a unique opportunity to contribute to advancements in power systems, grid cybersecurity, and more. This collaboration is a significant step toward overcoming technical challenges and bolstering domestic manufacturing.
JUST ANNOUNCED: New technical collaboration program to assist small businesses developing #electricgrid innovations! Small businesses are now able to develop proposals for cost-shared research in Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Grid Research Integration and Deployment Center, or GRID-C, which houses more than a dozen labs and test beds for research in power and energy systems, power electronics, grid cybersecurity and more. GRID-C researchers will provide expertise to help achieve technical collaboration goals. ORNL announced the new program during the Power electronics Accelerator Consortium for Electrification (PACE)’s annual meeting in Knoxville. Now in its third year, PACE, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, brings together industry, university, and national lab partners to present their advances in power electronics and collaborate to increase electric grid reliability, reduce costs, and better integrate new loads and #renewableenergy sources. PACE partners are developing pathways to overcome technical challenges like transmitter efficiency, as well as to meet broader industry challenges like expanding domestic manufacturing of components.
