About us
SigEp is redefining fraternity on college campuses across the country. We complement a man’s education by delivering a premier student experience in one of the most formative times of his life. Through SigEp, men strengthen their character, build leadership and interpersonal skills, and learn to develop healthy, lifelong relationships that are essential to a successful and fulfilling life. SigEp was founded with the Cardinal Principles of Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love. Our mission is “Building Balanced Men,” which is achieved through a commitment to Sound Mind and Sound Body. We are committed to working with our host institutions as a valued partner in higher education. ------ Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded in 1901 on the campus of Richmond College (now called the University of Richmond) in Richmond, Va. The story of its founding by 12 determined men set the stage for the growth and success of one of the country’s premier fraternal organizations. The history of the Fraternity reflects the times, through great wars and profound cultural shifts. Throughout the decades, the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon have practiced their values and embraced the stated desire of the Founders, “This Fraternity will be different.”

“As I grew as a leader, I realized being young is actually an advantage,” Camal stated. “The federal government needs new perspectives, ideas and ways of doing things. That’s how agencies grow and missions advance.” Honored to be featured in the latest edition of the Sigma Phi Epsilon (Official) Journal. My time at Sig Ep URI shaped me into who I am today, and my brothers continue to support me throughout life. Thank you Kevin Knudson and Ben Ford for the feature! 👏 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eWCKF_UZ HFF
I spoke with Michael Camal about his work on the Blue Lightning Initiative, a joint DHS and Department of Transportation program aimed at training airline and airport staff to recognize signs of human trafficking. Michael is a Sigma Phi Epsilon (Official) alum from University of Rhode Island and recently started a new position as a Deputy Assistant Director with the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, where he is no doubt continuing to do incredibly impact work!

Extremely proud of our KY Eta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (Official) at Northern Kentucky University! As the chapter’s former (most recent) Balanced Man Steward, I have gotten a front roll seat to the continuous growth/development of both the chapter and its members. Our chapter is doing the work and it shows! Below is part of the announcement from KY Eta’s Alumni and Volunteer Corporation in a recent newsletter. The below insert celebrates the chapter for a successful BM Scholarship cycle:

Congratulations to Amber Robinson, the Faculty Fellow at our Mississippi Beta chapter! #raiseyourbar
We are proud to celebrate four faculty members with two of the university’s most prestigious teaching honors. Wes Schilling received the William L. Giles Distinguished Professor distinction, and John E. Ball, Amber Robinson and Rosângela Yazbec Sebba are the newest Grisham Master Teachers. “Mississippi State University is blessed to have world-class faculty who are leaders in their fields and dedicated to their students. Today’s honorees exemplify the very best of what it means to be a teacher, mentor and scholar, and I am grateful for their many contributions to our campus community,” MSU President Mark E. Keenum said. Learn more about these incredible faculty members: https://lnkd.in/ekz9k6zs

After an incredible two years at The University of Texas at Austin, I am thrilled to announce my new role as Executive Director of Advancement for Sigma Phi Epsilon (Official) Fraternity. #SigEp has had a tremendous impact on my life in college and beyond, and I am excited to contribute to its continued development. During my time at UT, I have experienced immense personal and professional growth, and I will miss my colleagues and friends in Austin. I am grateful for the guidance, support, and friendships I found here. It was an honor to support the best development team on campus with the Texas McCombs School of Business, and it was a privilege to work with Texas Athletics as well. I look forward to my new chapter with #SigEp! Stay tuned! #HookEm #BalancedMan #GoPokes
