We are pleased to share our latest work demonstrating that our lung models accurately predict regional lung mechanics in heterogeneously damaged lungs, achieving 96% correlation with clinical reference data. In our latest paper, we show that our lung models tailored to individual patients can resolve the large inter- and intra-patient anatomical and pathophysiological variability of lungs of #ARDS patients undergoing mechanical ventilation and correctly predict regional ventilation phenomena within the lung. An important step towards model-based and truly personalized mechanical ventilation. We created patient-specific lung models based on chest CT scans and ventilatory data and computationally resolved the interaction of the pathological lung with the airway pressure and flow delivered by the ventilator, predicting the time-dependent and heterogeneous local state of the lung and its regional ventilation for each patient.
