About us

The EcoCAR EV Challenge is an Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTC) sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, General Motors and Mathworks, and it is managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Students from 15 North American Universities must re-engineer a Cadillac Lyriq over four years to incorporate advanced propulsion systems and connected and automated vehicle technologies. Students participating in the EcoCAR EV Challenge gain valuable, hands-on, real-world experience with automotive engineering and development processes used in industry. This competition, The Ohio State University is joining forces with Wilberforce University to involve more engineers from a wide variety of different backgrounds.
