One of the ways OU Health lives into our mission and values is by taking care of our community. This morning our mobile mammography unit spent time at the Devon Energy Tower in Downtown Oklahoma City. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is a significant concern, representing 30% of all new female cancers diagnosed annually. Early detection through screenings such as mammograms can greatly increase the chances of successful treatment and recovery. Schedule your mammogram today! We recently helped about 3,000 students kickoff the new school year at the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation Back to School Bash which took place over two weekends. As the presenting and exclusive healthcare sponsor, OU Health donated 2,000 backpacks and other school supplies. Volunteers helped students pick a book from the ReadOKC On the Go Book Bus, sponsored by OU Health. In addition, we offered health services and signed families up for our telehealth platform, giving them virtual access to our Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health experts. OU Health team members were on hand to chat about our Healthcare Careers Explorers program which introduces the next generation of healthcare workers to potential careers.

    Chief Nurse Executive OU Health

I am thrilled to announce the graduation of Cohort 12 from OU Health’s Nurse Residency Program! This graduation marks not only the completion of their first year in nursing practice, but also the beginning of an incredible journey in their nursing careers. I am proud of their hard work and look forward to their continued contributions to drive the highest quality of care for our patients. This 12-month program contains ongoing structured learning opportunities, a strong network of social support and mentoring, and preparation to obtain national certification in a chosen specialty area. With an evidence-based curriculum designed by Vizient, Inc and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), nurse residents are given the support necessary to successfully bridge the transition from student to practicing nurse. A program of this kind is invaluable to the growth of a nurse’s career.  Are you interested in building a strong foundation for a successful nursing career? Discover how our Nurse Residency Program can support your transition from student to practicing nurse. Visit https://lnkd.in/gW3WBHGK to learn more.
