    Last week, Pacific Power employees lent a hand at SnowCap Community Charities, getting ready for their Back-to-School event. The team organized and displayed donated school clothing, ensuring everything was prepared for more than 300 families to pick out free back-to-school outfits. Snow Cap Community Charities provides food, clothing advocacy and other services to low-income people in East Multnomah County. Learn more at www.snowcap.org

    Thanks, in part, to a grant made possible by Blue Sky Block participants, Fort George Brewery plans to install a solar array on their property along the riverfront in Astoria, Oregon. Once installed, the solar array is expected to save the brewery up to $60,000 a year by powering up to 80% of the facility’s energy usage, reducing the brewery’s carbon footprint while supporting renewable energy.     On August 1, 2024, the Benton County Historical Society celebrated the installation of solar panels on the Johnson Collections Center in Philomath, Oregon. These panels were made possible with the support of a Blue Sky grant and will help the historical society reduce their carbon footprint while they continue to curate the important historical collections housed in the Johnson Collections Center.     A Pacific Power electric mobility grant, awarded to the Oregon Environmental Council and Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences, is electrifying Oregon’s agricultural communities! This grant provided new Polaris all-electric utility vehicles for four key research centers in Corvallis, Pendleton, Hood River, and Central Point. Last week, Pacific Power joined the excitement at OSU’s Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research and Extension Center Field Day in Hood River, showcasing the future of farming!
