Did you know that sliding mesh and non-conformal interfaces are now supported in the Fluent GPU Solver? In the below simulation, the Fluent GPU Solver was used to create a quadcopter drone simulation, which was carried out on 8 Nvidia A100 GPUs (80 GB per GPU), had a mesh size of 39M elements, and was solved in just under 14 hours. The flow was computed using time-accurate unsteady methods along with sliding interfaces for the propeller rotation and scale-resolving turbulence models to accurately predict the complex fluid motion. SImulations such as this can be used to assess both aerodynamics and acoustics performance. A big thank you to Ansys Principal Application Engineer Franklyn Kelecy for the fantastic simulation work.
