"Modernizing the theater’s visual identity and messaging wasn’t just about updating its look; it was about making it more inclusive and accessible. The new brand invites a broader audience and attracts potential sponsors, aligning with ongoing conversations about representation in the arts." Thank you to Amelia Nash at Print Magazine for this insightful article on how our rebrand with Studio Usher combines "design, culture, and innovation" to strengthen how we launch playwrights! It's not often that we get to collaborate with organizations as meticulous about language and details as we are, but when we do, real magic happens. Thank you endlessly to Naomi Usher, Shena Patel, and the visionary team at Studio Usher for helping us reinvigorate our brand identity with a look that clarifies our singular purpose: to launch the careers of playwrights. Before/After: See for yourself Brand Refresh by Studio Usher Check out the transformation from old logo to new one. The new visual identity is more than just a decorative change. It represents Page 73 Productions' dedication to fostering emerging playwrights and giving their work the platform it deserves. The new logo came directly out of the work Studio Usher did to update Page 73's mission to: “We launch the careers of playwrights.” That amplification is now baked right into the new logo visually. #Logo #Theater #Branding Collab with Shena Patel Dennis Whipple Michael Walkup

As our 2023-24 fiscal year comes to a close, let’s look back on how Page 73 kept new playwrights in the spotlight this year! 🟢 Our track record shows that an Off-Broadway premiere is the most effective way to launch a playwright’s career, and our production of Majkin Holmquist’s STARGAZERS introduced a remarkable playwright to NYC audiences. 🟢 Our celebration of YOU GOT OLDER by Clare Barron reunited the original cast, playwright and director for a spellbinding night at The Shed (NY). 🟢 Seven new play workshops provided dedicated time with professional artists to explore a script-in-process and hear their plays read aloud in a room filled with new play fans. 🟢 We partnered with Studio Usher for a reinvigorated brand identity that clarifies our singular purpose: to launch the careers of playwrights. 🟢 Through our Playwriting Fellowship and Writers Group, we opened our doors to talented playwrights who have a story to tell, and subsequently the larger theater community, preparing them for opportunities that will come their way. 🟢 Our 2024 Gala was a party like no other! Donors, board members, and new play fans gathered to celebrate and honor Jean Smart, the Founder and CEO of Penelope making 401K plans accessible to non-profits like Page 73, all while raising funds to support our mission of launching playwrights careers. Let’s make next year even more impactful! If you value investing in playwrights, please share our mission to your network or consider supporting us by June 30th at the link below to ensure we have robust resources to offer to the next great American playwrights. https://lnkd.in/dt-jf8Za #playreading #workshop #newplaydevelopment #newplays #supportartists #nyctheater #nycwriters #playwrights #offbroadway

Oh, what a night! ✨️ Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us at our 2024 Gala! We had a sensational night honoring Jean Smart, Founder and CEO of Penelope, a company that supports small businesses like Page 73 with accessible 401K plans. We celebrated 26 years of launching playwrights, including this season’s world premiere of STARGAZERS by Majkin Holmquist. The evening also featured a lively paddle raise, a gourmet menu by Chef D.Arthur inspired by Page 73’s production history, and special remarks by Mia Chung, Page 73 alum and playwright of CATCH AS CATCH CAN. Thank you endlessly to our board, staff, community, Chelsea Factory, Applesauce Bartending, and Chef D.Arthur for helping bring this spectacular event to life. Photos by Daniel J. Page 73 is thrilled to be honoring Jean Smart in recognition of her outstanding service on Page 73’s board and her remarkable achievements, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to social impact as founder of Penelope, a retirement platform that directly supports nonprofits like Page 73 at our 2024 Gala on Tuesday, June 4th at Chelsea Factory, NY. Jean is an inspiration to our community. Through Penelope, she is not only helping to secure the economic futures of our staff, but also supporting other small businesses within our communities. Her leadership and support as a board member have been invaluable, enabling us to amplify our efforts and reach even greater heights. Your first look at the beautiful images from Majkin Holmquist's STARGAZERS directed by Colette Robert at The Connelly Theater. This Off-Brodway premiere tells the story of a grieving mother who contemplates selling her Kansas farm—guided, she says, by the ghost of her daughter. While her ex-husband and neighbors fight to keep the land, an East Coast developer hopes to build a progressive utopia that would alter the landscape forever. "What is home to you" is a compelling question that we all identify with. Don't miss this Page 73 World Premiere now extended through May 10th. Learn more and get tickets at Page73.org. We're sharing a behind-the-scenes peek at the iterations Studio Usher designed as we worked to refresh our Page 73 logo. This brand refresh clarifies our singular purpose to launch the careers of playwrights as we strive to make Page 73 synonymous with the best New York theater has to offer. Immense gratitude to Naomi Usher and Shena Patel for valuing our history, championing language, and making the entire process downright joyful.
