Our top-performing operators were in the spotlight during the awards dinner at our recent Upper Crust incentive trip for our top 10% of cafe leaders, with Abenet Geberegzabher, Director of Retail Operations for the Alexandria, VA, market, and Josh Tomaszewski, an Operating Partner in East Lansing, MI, named the #1 DRO and #1 OP, respectively, for their outstanding 2023 business results.   Abenet was celebrated for running high-volume cafes and posting great service metrics, and Josh, a repeat Upper Crust attendee, was honored for his operational excellence and ability to inspire his team to drive great results.   Abenet and Josh were among the 107 attendees at this year’s Upper Crust event earlier this month in Boca Raton, FL, where we celebrated them and the rest of the award winners.    Congratulations, Abenet Geberegzabher and Josh Tomaszewski!   https://lnkd.in/egnbdwkm  

We recently held our second Upper Crust event, an annual incentive trip designed to celebrate and reward top-performing General Managers (GMs), Operating Partners (OPs), and Directors of Retail Operations (DROs) while continuing their growth trajectory as company leaders. Upper Crust recognizes individuals within Panera's company-owned bakery-cafes who have not only achieved the highest levels of performance, but who also consistently embody an unwavering commitment to warmth, hospitality, and genuine brand passion that is uniquely Panera. This Memorial Day, Panera’s Salute business resource group is paying tribute to our fallen heroes with a solemn gesture. Throughout May, select bakery-cafes and St. Louis Support Center teams have set up Fallen Soldier Tables — a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who serve our country. Each item is carefully placed, representing the emotions and feelings reserved for those who did not return home. Each table is a powerful symbol, reminding us that though they may be gone, those who make the ultimate sacrifice are forever with us in spirit.   Salute is committed to acknowledging, appreciating, and advocating for those who have served or continue to serve our country.

Cheers to our teams! Across the country, our team members are enjoying Associate Appreciation Week – seven days of special snacks, games, and theme days to celebrate the people who make Panera special. Each cafe has its own festivities – from outrageous hats and tie-dye shirts to bowls of candy and playing Connect 4 with guests – and smiles all around.
