Every item you see in Target, Walmart, and any big-box retailer is using the same tool...EDI Electronic Data Interchange better known as EDI is a technology enabling businesses to exchange documents and data in a standardized electronic format. This tool is crucial in key industries such as healthcare, banking and finance, and retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG). If you want to learn more about EDI, when to use it, when to not, read this article! Link in comments

Why do distributors, brands, and suppliers have such big inside sales and customer experience teams? Wholesale is a relationship-driven business, but when you investigate what these teams are doing… you find that they are doing data entry, not delighting customers. * Time is spent by the team decoding vague descriptions provided by the customer or partial item numbers. * Up until recently, this or expensive and clunky automation, like EDI, has been the only solution, but AI is already changing that. Advances in AI can comprehend and interpret human nuances. Imagine a system that can understand 1. What the customer wants to order 2. Any revisions that need to happen to meet MOQ and ensure profitability, 3. Suggest additional purchases 4. And all of this automatically gets into the system for fulfillment with no data entry. Unintuitively, AI will make the supply chain more relationship-driven. If you want to find out how we’re already doing it, DM me!

What do billion-dollar brands and million-dollar brands have in common? They're managing wholesale orders in the same way. You'd be shocked to see the amount of entry-level Wholesale Ops roles listed on LI that's no.1 responsibility entails some form of "Reviewing, Analyzing, and Processing orders." Isn't this a task that should be automated already?! Yup, you're absolutely right. Check out our blog that breaks all of this down! (Link in comments)

Wholesale here we come.
Arlo Clarke and I started Pantry AI to eliminate the trillions of dollars of wasted time and money in the wholesale supply chain, but one of the most rewarding parts of the job is working with CPG founders and operators. These individuals are so genuine and passionate about what they’re building, and I find myself continuously amazed at what is being created and how willing people are to help others in this space. I look forward to disrupting ordering and logistics with some great brands and distributors 🚀

Expo West was a whirlwind - it also marks about a year since Arlo Clarke and I started Pantry. Last year we showed up with a dream and 5 connections between the two of us. This year’s show was an opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve made. We’ve gone from nothing to: 1. Working product 2. Happy customers 3. A vision for transforming wholesale It was incredibly energizing to see customers face-to-face, experience spontaneous connections, and have random encounters wandering the show. I can’t wait to see what we do this year…and if you are still accepting orders by hand — DM me.

It was fun to sit down with Jordan Buckner from Foodbevy to talk about how AI is changing the supply chain. Selling into wholesale/retail has 1000 moving parts, but it won’t be like that forever. https://lnkd.in/d_HkehbA
