Paws of War

Another huge media day for our client, Paws of War. They recently hosted a reunion event for three soldiers who, for the first time since their deployment, were reunited with the dogs they cared for and rescued while serving overseas in Eastern Europe. The three soldiers traveled to Nesconset, NY from Colorado and Rhode Island to officially adopt these beloved animal friends. As part of its War-Torn Pups and Cats program, Paws of War recently rescued Ace, Shadow, Runtie and Racha from a military base in Eastern Europe, where they then safely travelled to the organization’s HQ in Nesconset. The four pups were struggling to survive without food and water before they were rescued by the three soldiers. Again, almost every major TV station in #NYC and on Long Island covered the story, generating about 9 minutes of total coverage. Soldier Nick Kingsley was about to have lunch at a mess hall in Kosovo where he was stationed when he came across a hungry stray puppy sitting outside. Kingsley liked the dog so much he told his mom and sister in the United States that he wished he could bring Puma home when his year of service ended in March. He said they did some research and learned the organization Paws of War might be able to help. The Long Island nonprofit is among a handful of agencies in the United States that help reunite military members with stray dogs and cats they bonded with while deployed overseas.

Volunteers from our client, Paws of War and The Home Depot of Central Islip recently visited Kings Park to assist a U.S. Army veteran and his young children in cleanup efforts after losing their two rescue dogs and their home was destroyed in a recent fire. US Army M.P. Brett Lawrence and his family, including three young children, and two new service dogs he recently adopted, are currently living in a trailer on their property waiting for their home to be rebuilt. In addition, a GoFundMe campaign has also been started to assist the family with expenses while Brett, a single father, is facing unforeseen stomach surgery due to a Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS) issue.
