We are thrilled to announce that Darlene J.S. Solomon, Ph.D., has joined Phase Two Ventures' advisory board. Elected to the National Academy of Engineering and named one of the Top 25 Women in Biotech by Healthcare Technology Report, Darlene brings wealth of experience to our team. As former Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Agilent Technologies, she transformed the company into a leader in life sciences and healthcare. Congratulations to Mason A. Chilmonczyk, PhD and the Andson Biotech team for closing their seed round. Phase Two is excited to be part of their journey in making Mass Spec workflows for biologics much easier. Phase Two Ventures was excited to participate and engage with great startups presenting at the BioTools Innovator Road Tour. The technologies being developed by these startups ranged from next-gen analytic tools to novel approaches for AI-enabled antibody development. Jose Morachis and Will Alaynick were part of the judges along with many friends and colleagues supporting the growing biotools ecosystem. Our Connect and Collaborate session with early stage investors during the annual AUTM conference included 1870 Ventures, Illumina Ventures, Insight Partners, LevelSet Capital, Orange Grove Bio, Osage University Partners (OUP), Phase Two Ventures, Red Tree Venture Capital and VentureWell. All of them shared their investment focus and how they can work with Technology Transfer Offices to support early stage entrepreneurs. TTO's superpower is the ability to identify projects that have the desired components to be attractive to each investment firm. The investors' ability to stay focused in execution and choosing the right combination of technologies and teams to de-risk is key for everyone's success. Thanks to Brian Z., Charles Lin, Aiden Aceves, Ph.D., Steve Pedersen, Brittany de Kouchkovsky, Anurag Agarwal, Jose Morachis, Jeremy Caldwell and Megan Aanstoos, Ph.D., RTTP (she/her) for their participation and making this session a success.
