  • Congratulations to Michelle Lombardi, BSN, RN, Phoenixville Hospital ICU, for being named "2024 Foster Parent" in Philadelphia magazine "Best of Philly" issue. 👏⭐ Here is her award: Michelle Lombardi - When Lombardi, an ICU nurse at Phoenixville Hospital, learned that one of her patients — an unhoused man who’d been living with his dog in his car — would be hospitalized for a lengthy stay, she volunteered to take in his pup for the duration, and cared for it until the owner was back on his feet and in an apartment of his own. Her above-and-beyond earned her an award from the Daisy Foundation, a nationwide org honoring extraordinary nurses — and the everlasting gratitude of the man and his beast. #Phoenixville #PhoenixvilleHospital #PhiladelphiaMagazine #PhillyMag #BestofPhilly #ICUNurse #Nursing

  • Congratulations to Phoenixville Hospital's most recent Mountain Laurel Award Winner, Kelly McDermott, CRNA - Phoenixville Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center - Limerick. 👏⭐🏥 Kelly was nominated by her patient at Limerick Surgery Center who said: I was having a routine surgery, but I have had a few much more serious surgeries and it was still anxiety producing. Kelly was professional and personable. We had a very good conversation in preop and I felt a real connection with her which put me at ease. Too often with medical professionals you feel like just a number but not at the surgery center, thanks to Kelly. She gives medical professionals a good name! • Congratulations to Phoenixville Hospital's recent Daisy Award winner: Gail Grim, BSN, RN - Emergency Department. 👏⭐🏥 Here is her nomination: This morning around 2 a.m. I walked into the emergency department at Phoenixville Hospital with my daughter, who was in excruciating pain. We were immediately greeted with a smile by Gail, an RN in the ED. From the moment she began caring for my daughter, Gail exemplified exactly what you hope for when being cared for by a nurse. My daughter was terrified, having to have her first IV in her life and first operating room experience. Gail, through her compassion, kindness, and empathy, wiped my daughter's tears away. She distracted my daughter through the IV process by talking to her about her school studies and the exciting adventures she had coming up this summer. Gail advocated for my daughter for pain control as she could see she was in excruciating pain. Gail made my daughter feel so comfortable and eased her anxiety, all with a warming smile. Phoenixville Hospital is extremely lucky to have Gail on their team, as she is a definite asset.
