We are pleased to formally announce the appointment of Paul Sambhi and Alex Young as Senior Directors at Pickering Pearce. As law firms begin to plan modernisation of their Finance functions and legacy technologies, these additions to our team underscore our commitment to expanding our expertise and delivering top-tier independent advisory services to our global clients. Paul brings a wealth of experience in delivering large scale change and #ERP projects both inside and outside of the legal industry. He has previously led the delivery of global Aderant, Elite Technology and SAP practice management implementations and wider finance transformation initiatives for firms such as Dentons and Herbert Smith Freehills. His leadership and strategic insight have consistently delivered results for ambitious firms who have been faced with highly challenging, once-in-a-generation change projects. Alex is well known and highly respected across the industry for the breadth and depth of experience that he brings to large scale practice management system projects and global transformation delivery initiatives. Alex has a long history in legal technology having worked with firms such as Linklaters, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Dentons on significant #ERP change initiatives. “Traditional time and billing platforms are finally evolving at pace in our industry, and many large law firms are carefully considering their options before committing to another decade or more with their existing systems,” said our co-founder Justin North. “Firms are now taking the opportunity to review their operating models and also rethink the core commercial processes and behaviours that sit at the heart of the firm. We’re at an exciting once-in-a-generation point in the industry’s history.” "We are thrilled to welcome Paul and Alex to the Pickering Pearce team," said North. "Their combined expertise and programme leadership is already proving to be instrumental in enhancing our capabilities and delivering exceptional value to clients who seek a viable and independent alternative to what has previously been available." With these latest strategic appointments, we believe that we are further strengthening our position as a leader in the industry, driving innovation and excellence through collaboration, and helping large complex law firm solve their most wicked problems. #LegalTech #Legal #PracticeManagement #LegalOps #LawFirms #ManagingPartner #ERP #Time #LawTech

Law firm billing is broken. The legacy processes, systems and behaviours that the industry continues to accept hinder financial performance, erode client relationships, drag down lawyer satisfaction - and unnecessarily increase waste and operating costs. The Pickering Pearce team is working with clients around the world to modernise and transform this core process - while also shining the spotlight on issues across other upstream processes that too often remain hidden and too hard to address. It is time to do it better. Thanks to Intapp, Aderant, BigHand, Elite Technology, Thirdfort, Lupl, Fulcrum GT, Microsoft, Litera, Celonis, UiPath, Oddr Inc, Salesforce and so many others who are helping us to power real change. #LawFirm #OperatingModels #LegalTech #ManagingPartner #Billing #BASIL #Lawyers

The Pickering Pearce team has recently worked with a leading City law firm as they seek new ways to approach legacy governance structures, practice group leadership and remuneration assessments. With direct input from 30 selected firms across the 2023 UK Top100, the initial research phase was designed to ensure the firm’s current leadership team was aware of the trends across peer firms and had access to the right case studies and references. We were excited to see from our interviews and research that many firms are actively reinventing and refreshing their governance structures - not just the people within the structure, but the structure itself - while also incorporating factors influencing succession planning, diversity, and the sharing of leadership responsibility across the partnership. We love the law and the firms that work within it. #LawFirm #OperatingModel #Law #LegalLeadership #ManagingPartner #TheLawyer #Governance #PracticeGroup

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the #LondonLegalWalk this week - it is always such a heart warming afternoon (and summer evening) full of smiles and laughter. Great to see so many law firms and chambers (of all shapes and sizes) turn out to raise much needed funds for the London Legal Support Trust. Special thanks to the BARBRI Global team for their sponsorship and support. #LegalWalk #LawFirms #London

Our team attended an exclusive invitation-only briefing with the global Aderant leadership team today ahead of Momentum London 2024. The session was an excellent dialogue between the Aderant team and leading industry advisors - with a valuable update on #Stridyn (the company's new AI-driven cloud platform) and also on the wider product portfolio roadmap. Great to see advisors to the smaller, regional firms attending as well. Thanks to the Aderant team for hosting us, and also for the off-piste after events. Our team loves giving back. It has been part of our ethos since we started in the industry almost 20 years ago. We are currently supporting a number of initiatives across a range of areas. One of these is the amazing Box of Tricks theatre company - a team that aims to promote Northern UK playwrights and theatremakers. The team is currently running an urgent appeal to raise over £6000 in just a week - and with the Arts under so much funding pressure, that’s a pretty tall order. Without these funds, the UK will have fewer resources for playwrites and creatives, fewer spaces, fewer development programmes, fewer commissioning opportunities, ultimately fewer plays, and less support for LGBTQ+ writers. The arts are a critical part of a thriving society and economy. Please help where you can - even if you throw the cost of a night out at the theatre their way, your £50 will help. #TheArts #Manchester #Theatre #FundRaising See more details here - https://lnkd.in/eXXFRaF8 Graeme Gregory, Debbie Androlia, Justin North
