Platte River Power Authority is a not-for-profit, community-owned public power utility that generates and delivers safe, reliable, environmentally responsible and financially sustainable energy and services to Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland, Colo., for delivery to their utility customers. Platte River's generation portfolio includes thermal, hydro, wind and solar resources. Our headquarters is located in Fort Collins and our generation and transmission facilities are located along Colorado’s Front Range and in northwestern Colorado. Our vision: To be a respected leader and responsible power provider improving the region’s quality of life through a more efficient and sustainable energy future. Our mission: While driving utility innovation, Platte River will safely provide reliable, environmentally responsible and financially sustainable energy and services to the owner communities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland.     #FeatureFriday! 🌍✨ Exciting news from the Hydrodivision International Conference attended by 1200 participants from 36 countries! 🌊 Dr. Masood Ahmad, senior manager of resource planning Manager at Platte River, joined a panel discussion to discuss the future of hydropower and global decarbonization. Platte River was invited by the The Colorado Energy Office to speak at the conference. Platte River's first resource was hydropower, back when the owner communities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland formed the organization and pooled their hydropower resources. 💧 #Hydropower #Sustainability #GlobalDecarbonization #RenewableEnergy #PlatteRiver

The milestone exemplifies the commitment and dedication of the employees, past and present, who have worked tirelessly to provide reliable, financially sustainable and environmentally responsible energy to our owner communities. This Rawhide 40th Anniversary video recognizes the efforts and achievements of the employees and tells the story of our energy evolution beginning with Rawhide Unit 1, which has long been a model for efficiency, reliability and environmental performance, to the addition of solar, battery storage and the interconnection for Roundhouse wind. This initiative is rolling out energy education in style! 🔹 NoCo Time Trials: Our fifth annual middle school solar and battery car race was a blast! Students and their families gathered at our headquarters to showcase their innovative projects and passion for sustainable energy. 🏎️☀️🔋 🔹 Efficiency Works: Fourth graders in our communities have the opportunity to participate in our Think! Energy with Efficiency Works program to spark their curiosity on all things energy.   • 🌟For #NationalInternDay, we celebrate our outstanding current interns at Platte River! 🎉 Tayler is entering his senior year this fall at CSU and expects to graduate next spring (May 2025) with a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Computer Information Systems and Corporate Finance. Macy is a CSU grad (May 2024) and received her BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in Merchandising. George is a Colorado School of Mines grad (May 2024) and received his BS in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Energy Systems & Power Electronics. He is continuing his studies at the School of Mines and expects to receive his MS in Electrical Engineering in May 2025. Brandyn is entering his senior year this fall at CSU and expects to graduate next spring (May 2025) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace Engineering. Platte River Power Authority offers various operational, technical and professional experiences.
