CHIQUITA FRESH NORTH AMERICA AND PORT FREEPORT SIGN LEASE AGREEMENT Port Freeport is pleased to announce the execution of a lease agreement with Chiquita Fresh North America, marking a milestone in their ongoing partnership. This morning at the Brazosport Friends of Scouting Distinguished Citizen Breakfast, the Bay Area Council of Boy Scouts of America honored Executive Director/CEO Phyllis Saathoff with the Golden Eagle Award. This award is given to citizens who have dedicated their lives to making their community a better place.

YOUNG ANGLERS ATTENDED 24TH ANNUAL PORT FREEPORT TAKE-A-CHILD FISHING TOURNAMENT FREEPORT, TX (May 21, 2024) – On Saturday, May 11th, Port Freeport hosted its 24TH Annual Take-A-Child Fishing Tournament (TACFT) at Freeport Municipal Park drawing in 323 young anglers from local communities and surrounding counties. With their families and friends, the total attendance was close to nearly 700 people. Over 615 pounds of canned goods items were collected as part of the entry fee for the event to help fill the pantry at the Brazoria County Dream Center. Port Freeport had a great time supporting the MARITIME WORKERS EMERGENCY MEDICAL FUND at their annual seafood boil. Thank you for all that you do to ensure that the maritime community has access to financial assistance in times of need!

A new recycled plastic playground is now officially open, providing opportunities for fun and education to beachgoers at Surfside Jetty Park. Fourteen local petrochemical companies, all members of the Brazoria County Petrochemical Council (BCPC), contributed more than $200,000 to provide an ADA-accessible playground made from recycled plastic. The nautically-themed toys encourage climbing, sliding and swinging while emphasizing the importance of recycling. The companies that donated are LyondellBasell, Freeport LNG, Dow, MEGlobal Americas Inc., Chevron Phillips Chemical, Olin, Port Freeport, DSM, BASF, Vopak, Shintech, K-Bin, INEOS and Phillips 66.
