PfW is working for greater representation of women at the top of the UK's energy industry.
About us
Chaired by Katie Jackson, and based at the Energy Institute as project partner, POWERful Women (PfW) is working for a diverse, inclusive and gender-balanced energy industry in the UK. The energy sector is tackling a wide range of important issues – from energy security and affordability to building a more sustainable low carbon future. Because industry competitiveness relies on being able to attract and retain a diverse pool of talent capable of bringing fresh perspectives, PfW believes much stronger female representation is needed at the top tables. By bringing together a mix of industry, academic and political leaders – spanning a wide range of technology sectors, services, roles and viewpoints in the industry – we work to support and encourage energy companies to attract and cultivate female talent and appoint more women to senior roles as part of building stronger businesses, adapting to changing markets and engaging better with consumers. Our "40 by 30" goals are for women to occupyat least 40% of middle management and leadership roles in the UK energy sector by 2030. To achieve this we SUPPORT, CHALLENGE and CONNECT. Find out more about our work by visiting our website, subscribing to our newsletter or getting in touch.

📣 Board role news from Maria at Women on Boards UK , including an exciting NED and Committee Chair opportunity at NESO (deadline 27th August) 👇
Inclusive Leadership | NED’s| Future Leaders| Boards | Culture Change | Diversity | Professional Development | Energy Sector Expertise and Connections| ICF Qualified Career Coach | Mentor
I am not sure I have time to be on a board “I’ll do it when…” Get started. Start small. Just joining a local community or charity board now will mean that when you reach the point in your career where you can take on larger paid roles, like those below, you will have gained some knowledge and experience. I usually post roles from our Women on Boards UK vacancy board on Fridays. Roles on arts boards, sports boards, housing associations and NHS Trusts. I do my weekly post to encourage companies to see the value and help their staff get started on the leadership development that being a NED brings. Our individual members get access to our vacancy board of roles, 1:1 interview support, our resource centre, our community of other people all looking for their first board roles. Corporates like those on the link buy packages of memberships for staff (plus our flagship Talks and Workshops). However, as it’s Summer, I am just posting one biggie a week. Have a great weekend!
