Pratham International is a US 501(c)(3) established to support learning innovations for children and youth in contexts across the globe. Pratham’s mission is supporting every child in school and learning well and equipping youth for their entry into the world of work and earning. Pratham Education Foundation has developed several innovative and evidence-based programs that are being implemented in India such as Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and Annual Status of Education Report (ASER). Pratham International enables the adaptation and spread of such proven and scalable solutions through programming and technical assistance tailored to local country contexts.

Wonderful few days in Santiago, Chile. Our first time in South America. We met people from many Latin American & Carribean countries, learned a lot about their education systems - many common challenges. We have come away with a view that despite being 17000 km away we share a common spirit. And the warmth of everyone is unbelievable !! Here is a heartening reflection from Glasswing International about their recent learning visit to India, where they had the opportunity to see Pratham Education Foundation's programs in action! #SouthSouth knowledge sharing is a powerful tool for adapting and strengthening education solutions to meet local needs and realities. We look forward to our ongoing collaboration with Glasswing to enhance educational opportunities and outcomes for children across Central America!
According to a report from the Inter-American Development Bank, 75% of students in Latin America lack basic math skills; 55% cannot read and understand a simple text. We have adopted the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach as one of the solutions to address this challenge. TaRL, pioneered by Pratham Education Foundation in India, helps learners acquire reading and math skills by meeting them where they are. TaRL groups elementary-school students according to their learning level, rather than their age or grade. Glasswing has piloted Pratham’s TaRL approach in diverse contexts in collaboration with Pratham International. We are also partnering to develop educational programming for Grades 1 and 2. Members of Glasswing’s education team recently traveled to Delhi and Haryana, India, to better understand these methodologies. We observed how Pratham Education Foundation implements TaRL and other educational programs. Pratham’s innovative, high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions provided us with insights and tools that we can leverage in Central America. We sincerely thank Pratham for their warm welcome and for sharing their knowledge. This trip not only reaffirmed the power of community but also filled us with new ideas to continue improving #education in our region.
