The Steadfast March Towards CMMC Reaches Another Milestone! The clock is ticking for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractors to prepare for CMMC compliance. The 48 CFR CMMC Rule, which will revise the DFARS clause in contracts (252.204-7021), has reached the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA). Once approved by OMB, the rule will be published in the Federal Register. Here's the key takeaway: There's no time to wait! This signifies continued progress towards mandatory CMMC compliance in DoD contracts by late 2024 or early 2025. Here's our full timeline, along with simple steps to prepare for #CMMC: https://lnkd.in/ehW9HzrT

What does the class deviation to NIST 800-171 Rev 2 means for defense contractors? Spoiler alert: It means more business as usual. The DOD has aligned DFARS 7012 and CMMC 2.0, so they'll both be based on NIST 800-171 revision 2, as we had expected. This move is an important step in bringing CMMC 2.0 closer to a final rule as prior to this there was conflict between CMMC 2.0 and DFARS 7012 given the impending release of 800-171 revision 3. This memo makes it clear that DOD is going to focus on 800-171R2 for CMMC 2.0 and it is now aligned with DFARS 7012. So what to do now if you are a defense contractor? Well, focus on NIST 800-171 revision 2 as it is written today. Like we said - more of the same. 💼 Find out more about this important DoD update in our newest blog: https://hubs.la/Q02wCBxW0 #NIST800171 #defensecontractors #complianceiskey 🛡️✨

IT'S OFFICIAL: PreVeil is the FIRST to achieve FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency 🍾🍾 What happened? PreVeil is the first Cloud Service Provider (CSP) ☁️ to meet the Department of Defense’s (DoD) stringent FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency requirement for CMMC and DFARS 7012 compliance. Why should you care? Until now, defense contractors could store their Control Unclassified Information (CUI) with CSPs that had an Authority to Operate (ATO) or were 'Equivalent' under FedRAMP. However, 'Equivalency' was never defined .... until the DoD issued their December 2023 memo. What did Equivalency require? Equivalency is no easy mountain to climb. Nope, not even a little. ⛰️ We had to demonstrate 100% compliance with the FedRAMP Moderate Baseline standard and have no (that means zero) Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) through an assessment by a 3rd party assessment organization 3PAO. And that's what we did. What did DIBCAC say? Upon the release of DoD’s updated Equivalency criteria in December, PreVeil presented its latest 3PAO assessment report to DIBCAC. A team of DIBCAC assessors conducted a thorough review of the Body of Evidence (BOE) and notified the company that PreVeil meets the requirements for FedRAMP equivalency. What does it means for you? The universe of CSPs that you can rely on to protect your CUI just got larger. However, remember that it is ultimately up to you to ensure that your CSP has an ATO or is 'Equivalent'. #NoPOAMs #UnequivocallyEquivalent #It'sAHighBar
