As a proud CO2 Champion and Sales Manager at Primekss | PrīmX® Industrial Concrete Flooring & Structural, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible impact PRIMX can have on reducing CO2 emissions for our clients. Reducing our carbon footprint isn't just a goal, it’s a necessity. We recently conducted detailed load tests on our PRIMX floor, with impressive results: 🔹 Slab thickness: 130mm 🔹 Designed SLS load: 80kN per leg 🔹 Designed ULS load: up to 120kN per leg 🔹 TR34 4th edition limits for traditional SFRC slabs: 80kN Our findings were remarkable: 1)SLS limit reached 150kN per leg on a 130mm slab. 2)Observed cracks were minimal, with a maximum width of 0.2mm.The deflection was only 1.5mm. These results highlight the superior performance and durability of PRIMX floors. Seeing the finished PRIMX floors after completion is truly inspiring. They’re not only durable and efficient but also a symbol of our dedication to sustainability and innovation. If there was any doubt about the level of innovation currently being developed in the AEC industry, yesterday's Demo Night Competition should have effectively quashed it. Generously hosted by Bouygues Construction, who also hosted the day's Building Tech Research Track and Venture Forum meetings as well as a post-competition reception, the 2024 Paris Summit Demo Night shined a spotlight on 10 of industry's leading edge startups: Alrik, Cassette, ConcR | Smart Monitoring, DataForm Lab, GScan, Kontrad, LumenCache, WakeCap, PrīmX, and ECODROP. The technologies presented spanned a wide, diverse spectrum of problem solving, showcasing stand out innovations in an industry relatively rife with it. We saw an emphasis on ESG, offsite construction, advanced materials, practical applications of AI, and quicker, more accurate data collection and tracking. But while each of our competitors made compelling pitches and stood poised in responding to our judges' meticulous scrutiny, there could only be one winner. And that was GScan. GScan is a groundbreaking, AI-powered technology that relies on certain naturally occurring subatomic particles (ie, muons, electrons and positrons) to scan structures and materials (up to 20 meters thick), visualize them in 3D, and produce a chemical composition analysis, from which a wealth of information can be gleaned. As a part of the True #Sustainability in Action Point Load Full-Scale Test in Latvia yesterday, we had an action-packed program for our guests. Back from Vancouver (where our Alphacon team installed freezer slabs earlier this month), Alphacon travelled to Winnipeg this week and installed their super seamless slab system. The project in Winnipeg consisted of an expansion for a racked dry food storage facility, operated at ambient temperature. Alphacon super seamless slabs were 5 inches thick and used the patented PrīmX technology regimen. Bird Construction was the GC, subcontracting Alphacon, Inc. In a design build, turn-key and built-to-suit fashion. Kevin MacDonald, PhD, PE, P.Eng, FACI was the slab system’s EOR. Lafarge Canada provided the concrete mix in Winnipeg per Alphacon PrimX specifications. As noted by François-Xavier Destrée and Trevor Mooney “Food service seamless slab projects require the implementation of a cross-trade design build effort, involving numerous parties, delivering as the client’s team expects. This past week, Alphacon installed a super seamless & dry-shrink-suppressed slab system at a new controlled environment facility in Surrey, BC. The PrimX technology regimen was implemented by Alphacon in Surrey, allowing for an optimal slab design in freezer conditions and for a minimal joint count within Alphacon slabs. Alphacon thanks each of you in our team for the extraordinary dedication you demonstrated at this project. WATCH THE VIDEO NOW! We Built It and We Broke It.  PrīmX concrete is 33% stronger, more load bearing than conventional concrete! PRIMX Concrete Technology is the right choice for large-scale construction and we have the proof, that our concrete is faster to install, stronger than traditional concrete and reduces CO2. Our recent double full-scale test pushed the boundaries of structural performance, featuring two concrete slabs: traditional steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) and PRIMX's steel fiber-reinforced self-stressing concrete (SFRSSC). Through rigorous SLS and ULS loading tests to complete failure, we exceeded industry standards. The traditional slab held up admirably, collapsing at 159 tons. However, PRIMX shattered expectations by withstanding an astonishing 211 tons before collapsing. Witnessing this milestone was a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability in construction. Through rigorous testing, PRIMX SFRSSC demonstrated that it surpasses traditional concrete in strength, safety, and sustainability. From serviceability to ultimate limit states, our system outperforms at every stage, offering increased load-bearing capacity and reduced shrinkage cracking. The slab included specialized fiber optics sensors and examining slabs with a thickness of only 150 mm, marks a pivotal moment in concrete testing. The data obtained will impact future structural designs, ensuring alignment with safety standards and advancing the application of PRIMX technology across diverse structures and conditions. We test our concrete to the limits to ensure lifetime-flat, dimensionally stable, jointless concrete floors and foundations and delivers full responsibility, design-build, future-flexible, CO2-reducing solutions.
