Changing life, one teen at a time.

About us

Pro Deo can sustain and deliver a variety of interventions during after-school and weekend educational programs and activities. Through a solid plan of action delivered with fidelity by Pro Deo staff, the teens will be equipped with skills to help them fulfill an individualized care plan for improvement of their own health/wellness program, college/career preparation, and social/emotional support to not only survive the teens years but thrive in the Lee’s Summit community. 1. We believe that teens have a voice which needs to be heard and valued in the community. 2. We believe that every teen deserves to have someone in their corner. 3. We believe that goals and dreams are admirable and to be encouraged. 4. We believe that young people need to have character development encouraged, taught, and lived out by example. 5. We believe that there should be a safe, fun, empowering environment for teens to grow and develop. 6. We believe that the basic needs of teens need to be met if we expect them to function in the community in a healthy manner. 7. We believe that teenagers deserve to be surrounded by their community, their family, and caring adults. 8. We believe it takes a village to raise a family. Therefore, Pro Deo is not only here for teens but for parents and the community.

A few weeks ago, NorthPoint Foundation held a job fair for our teens and brought several of their trade partners. From this event, a couple of our teens were offered full time jobs! The photo shows two of our teens who are being introduced to their future job site by Neighbors Construction Company, Inc. individuals. This is going to be a life changing experience for these two young men and we can't wait to share their life updates in the months and years to come!

We held our first job fair in partnership with the Pro Deo Youth Center. Teenagers from the Pro Deo community had the invaluable opportunity to interview with several local businesses on the spot. Thank you to Neighbors Construction Company, Inc., Nickell Electric Company Inc., Grabill Plumbing Heating and Cooling, and Roy & Son Fencing for participating in our career fair. Your support is instrumental in shaping the future workforce and fostering meaningful connections within our community.

Listen up to student Elle from Lee's Summit R-7 School District interviews two community leaders from ReDiscover and City of Lee's Summit Police Department talking about youth mental well-being. It's worth your time to hear how community rallies around teenagers to help and support. Pro Deo Youth Center is thrilled to be a part of the conversation for prevention and early intervention. Forming relationships that empower teens to have hope for their future.
