Had an incredible time with Project Béisbol cohosting a girls baseball clinic in Columbia. The girls were wonderful. It was the first ever clinic for girls/women’s baseball at El Diamante de Béisbol in Salitre, Bogotá. But it won't be the last! Baseball For All plans to continue working with Project Béisbol on clinics in Colombia to increase access to baseball for girls and women across the country. Big thank you to Project Béisbol's Founder Justin Halladay for his groundbreaking work in Bogotá and beyond. A magical night at the beautiful Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú with our friends from Valle de Cauca and Cartagena Colombia: Mets de Cartagena Club Cancerberos de Roldanillo, Indervalle and Quinamayo! By chance, a few of our partner teams had come to Mexico City the same week as our visit. What better way to celebrate than to take them to their first professional game between Diablos Rojos del México and El Aguila Beisbol. We are proud and optimistic about the strong relationships that were built this last week between Mexico, Colombia and the USA! Great things to come!

This past Sunday, we were honored to partner with Justine Siegal, PhD. and Baseball For All on the first ever clinic for girls/women’s baseball at El Diamante de Béisbol in Salitre, Bogotá. Thank you to Liga de Beisbol de Bogota and the local coaches for coming out and supporting the efforts to advance women’s baseball in Colombia and Latin America as a whole. Needless to say, the ballplayers will never forget the experience, including some inspirational words of wisdom from Justine at the end. We hope to continue working with Baseball For All on clinics in Colombia to increase access to baseball for girls and women across the country. Don’t let anyone tell you baseball isn’t for you! We are extremely excited to announce that this Sunday, May 5, Project Béisbol will co-host an all-girls baseball clinic with Justine Siegal, PhD Baseball For All. Dr. Siegal is an American baseball coach, sports educator and the founder of Baseball For All. In 2009, she became the first female coach of a professional men's baseball team, when she worked for the Brockton Rox, in the independent Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball. In 2011, she became the first woman to throw batting practice for an MLB team, the Cleveland Guardians during spring training. Empowering girls to embrace baseball and excel is a big part of Project Béisbol’s mission and we could not be more excited than Dr. Seigel reached out to us to co-host the event.
