Adolescents and young people are at a stage in which they need information and tools to reduce risk behaviors, make positive decisions for their lives and have quality health services. Through the AstraZeneca Young Health Program (YHP) in Mexico, Project HOPE focuses on the prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) by addressing topics on physical activity, prevention of alcohol consumption, tobacco, pollution and the environment, mental and sexual health. One of Project HOPE’s ambulances was damaged overnight in Kharkiv when a Russian missile landed 50 meters from the hospital where the team was on duty. Multiple civilians were injured in the attacks and several homes were destroyed.    Hospitals and health workers are NOT targets of war. We are grateful no one was injured in the attack.    https://lnkd.in/enctgnjz

🚑 In partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Project HOPE is improving access to medical services for those near the front lines in Ukraine.   Our 20 Mobile Medical Teams are operating across six regions: Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts. Each team, equipped with a physician, nurse, data entry operator, and often a psychologist, provides essential care to vulnerable populations, especially the elderly and those with limited mobility.   These dedicated teams reach remote areas, offering primary medical consultations, free medications and mental health support.   📽️ See the impact of our work by watching the video now!   *** 🚑 В партнерстві зі Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

"Patients are cooperative and give me permission to visit their houses, and a lot of them who have defaulted have been coming back to take their medicines as a result of community mobilizing. Most of them are not aware that they can come back for more medication." Sumayya Aminu, a Community Mobilizer for the Nigerian Hypertension Control Initiative (NHCI), ensures that program participants have what they need to thrive, creating a lasting impact in her community.

Since March, internal displacement across Haiti has increased by 60%, with 580,000 people currently displaced. With the reopening of Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport last month, shipments of much needed medical supplies and medicines have allowed humanitarian organizations to resupply their programs and cover the needs of undersupplied medical facilities. However, hospitals are still operating intermittently, making it difficult for pregnant women, children, and people with pre-existing conditions to access essential services. Project HOPE continues to respond to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) needs in the Sud, Nippes, and Grand’Anse departments, through facility-based primary health care, MMUs, and community-level interventions focused on psychosocial support, GBV awareness, and hygiene promotion.

In Ethiopia, our Community-based HIV Care & Treatment activity has successfully integrated non-communicable disease (NCD) services, offering an innovative and cost-effective approach to early detection and mitigation of NCDs among people living with HIV. Through this initiative, community healthcare workers were trained, technical assistance was provided to local implementing partners, and NCD screening kits were distributed. The integration of NCD risk factor screening into the HIV activity was found to be a feasible and effective approach for the prevention, early detection, and community-level NCD service provision.
