Today is my three year anniversary with PeakMade Real Estate!
July 7th, 2021 was my first day at The Hue in Savannah, GA. After spending only six months as a leasing consultant with a competitor property, I was recruited to come and join Peak as a first time Leasing Manager! I was full of nerves for my first day but received so much guidance and support from my Property Manager, Shaylene Scarlett who I had been developing a “work” friendship with.
I learned so much that first year and a half as a Leasing Manager. I fell in love with sales, strategies, and creative marketing. During that time, I got to experience a level of corporate support that I had never seen with any other company. I am talking REAL support, not just a quarterly check in email or call. I had standing calls with Peak’s Sales & Marketing team, bi-weekly calls with other Leasing Managers in the region, and had opportunities to meet both my Regional Manager and Regional Vice President in person. At the site level, building up an incredibly strong leasing team, hitting 100% occupancy post-COVID shutdown, and having two phenomenal turns and move-in days were such formative experiences for me in my career.
In January 2023, I said “see you later” to my now best friend Shaylene (and my Maid of Honor for my upcoming wedding) and stepped into my current role as Property Manager. In this role, I have truly come to love Peak. I have been so lucky to participate in committees and launch groups for company wide initiatives where collaboration and innovation seem to come so easily due to the hard work of the project spearheads. Getting a peek into how our Peak Mindsets are legitimately present in our normal business operations provides me such a feeling of peace at the property level. I have developed so many relationships within each department and that helps me manage The Hue knowing I have a dedicated team of support just a Teams message away.
Peak has really given me so much on both a personal and professional level. I have no idea when or where the next steps of my career will take me, but I know I want them to be with PeakMade Real Estate. Three years is just the beginning!
