🌟The #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct was signed into law 34 years ago this week! To celebrate #DisabilityPrideMonth, we asked our community: ➡️“Why is Disability Pride Month important to you?” Our first response came from PROVAIL’s Community Partnerships Manager, Madison Johnson: "For the first 12 years of my disability journey, I tried as hard as I could to defy my disability. I found my disability community in my early 20s. Then, my whole world changed. I realized that my disability wasn't the problem, it wasn't something to cure or hide. The ableist world we live in is the problem. Now, I am a proud diabetic, and I am honored to advocate for all people living with disabilities."
